Young Leaders in the Community

The next generation of United Way leadership donors make up the Emerging Leaders affinity group. The young adults in this group not only contribute $500 or more annually, but they give back to the community through invested involvement and enthusiastic leadership.

Members participate in various community volunteer activities throughout the year, including an egg hunt for inner-city children and their families, and a meaningful holiday dance for senior citizens.

Emerging Leaders actively enjoy networking with peers through events such as the casino-themed event Raising the Stakes, and learning valuable skills and lessons from respected community leaders. Through the Lunches with Leaders series, members heard from established business leaders Doug Lawler, Chesapeake Energy Corporation; Cliff Hudson, SONIC-American’s Drive In; and Sean Trauschke, OGE Energy Corp. Emerging Leaders also had the opportunity to connect with Partner Agency representatives and directors throughout the year.
