When a 24-year-old single mother moved from her small town to the big city, life got complicated. Andrea knew she needed help.

She couldn’t raise two young boys by herself.

“I was going through some pretty rocky times in my relationship,” Andrea said.

Andrea would spend time at the local library searching for help. For hope.

A library employee recommended Pivot, Inc. to her one day. Andrea had a history of not feeling comfortable at shelters.

“It was a hard thing for me to do — a big step for me to make,” she said.

But she took the giant step for her children. Andrea arrived at Pivot five months pregnant. Pivot employees knew they had to act quickly to ensure Andrea could thrive in independent living.
