United Way of Central Oklahoma’s Day of Action to Benefit Holiday Stocking Program

United Way of Central Oklahoma is rallying hundreds of volunteers throughout central Oklahoma the week of June 19 as part of its Day of Action community engagement program. Day of Action, an annual event, mobilizes the caring power of volunteers and organizations to engage in their communities and takes place in more than 400 communities around the world.

Now through June 23, individuals and organizations are encouraged to donate items that can be used as stocking stuffers for the United Way’s annual Stockings of Joy Program. Last year more than 6,000 stockings were distributed to children and seniors during the holiday season. For many, this was the only gift they received.

Wish list items include playing cards, bubbles, hair bows, Matchbox cars and travel size hygiene products. Donated items may be dropped off at the United Way’s office located at 1444 NW 28th, Oklahoma City, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. For a complete list of needed supplies please visit www.volunteercentraloklahoma.org.
