OKLAHOMA CITY – MidFirst Bank announced a $100,000 gift to the United Way of Central Oklahoma COVID-19 Response Fund to help nonprofits meet increased community needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund supports partner agencies of United Way of Central Oklahoma, United Way of Logan County and United Way of Canadian County through emergency grants for direct client services and to ensure agencies have the capacity to serve more individuals and families seeking assistance during this time of crisis.

“The support of corporate partners like MidFirst Bank is vital for nonprofits that are responding to an unprecedented number of service requests,” United Way of Central Oklahoma President and CEO Debby Hampton said. “Many of these individuals and families are first-time clients who have never reached out for help before, but due to an unexpected loss of employment are seeking assistance with rent, utilities and other basic needs.”

Other examples of agency services supported by the fund include mental telehealth and counseling, delivery of food, supplies and COVID-19 education materials to those experiencing homelessness and providing food, personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies to nonprofit resource centers.
