Part of United Way’s focus on Strong Families includes increasing their incomes. Helping hard working families secure the tax credits they’re eligible for is one simple way we can do that.

In partnership with the IRS, Community Action Agency, and others, we provide free tax filing assistance to low-income families in central Oklahoma each year. The Earned Income Tax Credit or EITC can provide a single family with as much as $4,700 or 10% of their annual income – a significant financial boost!

In 2007, more than 3,000 local families received more than $4 million in EITC payments. With nearly 17% of Oklahoma County families living below the federal poverty line, there are many more families who could benefit. You can help!
