Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

In partnership with the IRS and Oklahoma City University, we provide free tax filing assistance in the spring so that local families can claim the tax credits they are eligible for.

If you earned less than $50,000 last year, you may be eligible for as much as $5,751 from the government. Don't miss out on tax credits this season. Visit United Way of Central Oklahoma's FREE volunteer tax assistance (VITA) site.

Who qualifies for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC):

- $43, 998 ($49,078 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children
- $40,964 ($46,044 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children
- $36,052 ($41,132 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child
- $13,660 ($18,740 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children

To be eligible for filing your 2011 tax return, please bring:

- Photo identification

- Social Security Cards for each family member on the return

- W-2's for 2010 income

- 1099s for other sources of income, if any

- 2010 tax return if possible

- Day care expenses with childcare provider name, address, and tax I.D. number
NOTE: If married filing jointly, both spousesneed to be present to sign the return.

To receive your tax refund electonically, also bring:

  • A voided check
  • Your bank routing number
  • Your bank account information

March: Tax site closed
April: Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.*
         Closed Friday, April 16
         Closed for inclement weather
*No returns will be started after 1:30 p.m.
