    • We have a courtyard outside our agency that is in severe need of some TLC. We need help with the flower beds and planters, to "green" up the courtyard and help with ground cover and/or rocks/bark that will survive the wind and rain. It needs to be hardy enough to withstand direct sun and little water. Dream wish item, a small concrete table to take breaks out here from a stressful call.

    • (1)Flower bed surrounding the Gazebos need to be cleaned, mulched and fall flowers planted. (2)Patio off the activity room needs mulching, a couple of holly bushes (about 2 feet in height) need to be removed and replace with other bushes. (The holly bushes are to thorny for our clients safety. Plant fall plants. (3) Mulch bed in front of building around bushes. The bed is about 8 feet long by 4 feet wide.

Sweets and socialization----a great combo for these isolated older Americans.

    Hugging & Rocking at Educare! - available
    • We need volunteers to assist in the classrooms at Oklahoma City Educare, spending time with children and helping the teachers. At OKC Educare, we serve 212 low-income children, ages birth to five, who are at risk for school failure. This volunteer opportunity is perfect for those who love interacting with children - playing on the playground, reading books, hugging and rocking babies, providing that special one-on-one attention that is so cruicial in the life of a child! Volunteers are welcome to serve in shifts, between 8:30 AM-11:30AM and 2:30PM-4:30PM, or as long as their schedule will allow. We have 16 classrooms and welcome a single volunteer, pairs or even small teams in each classroom! We would love your help and hope to see you on Friday, October 8th!

    • Sunbeam welcomes volunteers to spend time with our residents at our Emergency Senior Shelter. Our ten bed Shelter, serves seniors who are victims of abuse, neglect or self neglect, as well as individuals who are homeless due to a catastrophic medical situation. We invite volunteers to spend time with our residents, talking, listening, assisting in serving a meal or even completeing a special project as a team. If available, we would love for volunteers to work with our residents to plant fall flowers around the Shelter. (If volunteers would like to supply fall flowers, we would LOVE it!!!) We are very flexible on the time of this project, so let us know what time you have in mind! This is a great chance to get to know some amazing people. We would love your help and hope to see you on October 9th!

    • On the main Sunbeam Family Services campus, we serve children, families and seniors through our Counseling Services, Early Childhood Services, Foster Care and Senior Services. Helping to make our campus beautiful really makes a difference to our clients' experience. We would LOVE to have volunteers to plant bulds and/or fall flowers around our campus. The volunteer team would supply the flowers/bulbs and Sunbeam will supply the tools! This activity is available on either Friday or Saturday (10/8 or 10/9) and we are very felexible on the schedule, so let us know what works best for you!     • With the need of moving came the responsibility of purchasing new property. We are in need of people who are not afraid of grunt work. We have inherited more trash then we desired. There is a lot of wood, scrap metal and other items considered to be junk we are in need of cleaning out. This project is great for a large group that does not want to split up. It is not a glamorous job but one of great necessity.

    Outdoor Area for Residents - available
    • Don't let the cracked concrete get in the way -- we can live with it! We are up for any improvements. Any new seating is appreciated. It might be possible to refurbish the old bench and picnic table that we have there at the present time. A large pot witha plant would add to the attractiveness of the area for our residents. This is the perfect project for anyone who is into extreme makeovers. Let your imagination go.

    • Our project will consist of painting several areas in bright, fun colors (there is nothing boring about us), weeding and mulching the front flower beds, painting the fire boxes in creative, fun ways (we no longer use them for fire extinguishers because we have a suppression system, so we will be using them to house the children's art projects), tilling and adding mulch in our children's playground to meet our safety impact requirement, and reorganizing several closets.
